Shahriar: Govt not feeling any external pressure over polls
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam on Sunday said the government was "not feeling any pressure" over the upcoming election despite various comments and statements from the international community.
"Elections will be held as per the constitution. The Election Commission will take its own steps to hold the election," he said while meeting reporters at the Diplomatic Correspondents Association, Bangladesh's (DCAB) flagship event “DCAB Talk” at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka.

The US recently issued a statement on the upcoming elections in Bangladesh and a possible visa ban if it is not held in a free and fair manner.
